There is one certificate included within the cost of the registrar to attend your ceremony, you may wish to order additional ones, and these can be ordered at any time on the Staffordshire County Council website.

Following your marriage or civil partnership in a Registration Office or Approved Venue – you should receive your certificate(s) within 10 working days.If a church, you will not have a certificate included and you should order one from Staffordshire County Council Website.

Yes if your venue has prior approval from us.

Ceremony times can vary dependent on the type of ceremony chosen. Times can be between approximately 20 – 45 minutes.

We recommend choosing 4 songs to be played for the following; arrival of guests, entrance, signing and exit song.

No, as you would have done this prior when you did your notice of intent, your witnesses are also not required to provide anything on the day.

You can choose family and or friends.  They must be able to fully understand and witness the whole ceremony.

You will be able to make choices regarding your ceremony for example the words to be spoken and any additional promises/readings from our selection.  You could opt to have an enhanced ceremony, giving you more options and to include your own personal promises, readings and more.

We have a large team of staff that conduct ceremonies, so this is unlikely. Although you can contact us at any time should you have any queries.

As soon as you have chosen the venue.  Bookings can be a couple of years in advance.

Yes, within 3 months of the date of your ceremony.  Please note if the ceremony does not go ahead your passport will become invalid.

Yes, following the ceremony, you can show your certificate and request the name you wish to be known by.

If you are entering a marriage or civil partnership it is a legal requirement to give notice.

A non-refundable booking fee is required to book your ceremony.  In addition, the ceremony fee is due no later than 6 weeks prior to the date of your ceremony.  If a marriage or civil partnership notice of marriage fee is also required.  Please note additional fees may apply.Fees are available to view here.
